Studio Miammmiam is a studio specialising in illustration, screen printing and limited-edition prints. Its founder, Julie, is a French artist who has been based in Berlin since 2010. Having graduated from the School of Art and Design in Saint-Etienne, France, in 2006, she honed her screen-printing skills at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin.

Julie’s screen prints are the result of meticulous research into form, texture and colour, playing with transparencies and overlays. All the designs (one type per colour) are created by hand, using brush and ink or pencil. They are then hand-printed by Julie herself.

Her world unfolds as a colourful bestiary, imbued with both lightness and power, tinged with humour yet permeated by more symbolic themes: global warming, the division of peoples and multiculturalism, the intrusion of the wild into the urban… The drawings, with their fluid lines, oscillate between sensuality and morbid fascination, a bittersweet fantasy world inhabited by cute creatures and mysterious beasts.
